India BEE Energy Efficiency Certification

Certification Introduction:

In May 2006, according to India's "Energy Conservation Act" (Energy Conservation Act, 2001), the Ministry of Energy of India established the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) as the owner of the energy efficiency labeling scheme, responsible for the development, formulation and implementation of India's energy efficiency labeling scheme. The purpose of the program is to provide energy efficiency performance information to help consumers choose goods, and was officially implemented on May 18, 206. The first products to implement the program are frost-free refrigerators and fluorescent lamps. At present, the product categories involved have been expanded to 15 categories: frost-free refrigerators, tube-on fluorescent lamps, indoor air conditioners, distribution transformers, indoor air conditioners (built-in, floor, ceiling, wall-mounted), direct cooling refrigerators, induction motors , Agricultural Pumps, Ceiling Fans, Electric Water Heaters, Color TVs, Washing Machines, Computers (Laptops/Laptops), LPG Stoves and Ballasts.

 

The Energy Efficiency Labelling Scheme was originally a voluntary scheme. Later, according to a series of energy efficiency regulations issued by India, since July 2010, four products such as tubular fluorescent lamps, indoor air conditioners, distribution transformers and frost-free refrigerators must implement the energy efficiency labeling plan. Products without energy efficiency labels Not for sale in the Indian market. For other products, the energy labelling scheme remains voluntary.
