Publisher:Admin  Source:  Date:2024/1/24

On January 16, SUBTEL of Chile officially published the MODIFICATION of EXEMPT RESOLUTION Nº 7,219, OF 2009.

The resolution in question establishes the minimum technical specifications that must be met by the antennas of open terrestrial digital television receiver devices as an integral part of them. This means that receivers marketed within the national territory must have the necessary elements to provide the respective service from the moment they are purchased by users.

The modifications incorporated into the regulation are as follows:

- Receiving antenna. A physical device that transforms the electric field of the signal propagated in the air into current and voltage useful for the proper functioning of the receiver's electronic elements and decoding of digital signals. In general terms, for its adaptation, it will be required to have an impedance of 75 ohms (article 1).

- Terrestrial digital TV receivers must include a receiving antenna that allows their proper functioning and compliance with minimum technical specifications (article 2).

This modification will come into effect on October 14, 2024.
