New Mexican Official STANDARD NOM-008-SE-2021!

On December 29, 2023, the Secretary of Economy of the Mexican government published in the official journal of the federation the Mexican Official STANDARD NOM-008-SE-2021, General system of measurement units. This new version cancels the current version NOM-008-SCFI-2002.

 

The purpose of this Official Mexican Standard is to define and establish the General System of Measurement Units, a System that establishes the current Quality Infrastructure Law, as the only official and mandatory use in the country. This establishes the way of expressing, in terms of the units of measurement of the System, the results of physical, chemical and biological measurements or specifications that respond to the current demands of scientific, technological, educational, industrial, commercial activities. , services or others, available to all sectors of the country.

 

This standard is very relevant since all the units of measurement that are used in all Mexican standards(NOM), now will use the units of measurement established in this NOM-008-SE-2021.

 

NOM-008-SE-2021 will enter into force on June 26, 2024.
