On 17 January 2023, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) announced nine new substances will be viewed as Substance of Very High Concern (SVHC) and have been added to the Candidate List under REACH regulation ((EC) No 1907/2006). The REACH SVHC now contains 233 substances.

The nine substances are listed as below:

According to REACH regulation, producers and importers have to communication in supply chain when SVHC in article ＞0.1%; producers and importers have to notify to ECHA when SVHC in article＞0.1% & SVHC in article ＞ 1t/yr/producer or importer.

In the context of the Waste Framework Directive, suppliers of articles need to provide information to the SCIP database on those articles which contain Candidate List substances in a concentration above 0.1% w/w as from January 5, 2021.
