1.Brazil: ANATEL Launches Wireless New Regulation 680

ANATEL of Brazil released the new wireless regulation "Resolution 680" on July 5, 2017 and is enforced on August 28, 2017. This law replaces the old version of Wireless Resolution "Resolution 506".

The main changes of the new Regulation are:

 

a.ANATEL label:

The old regulation "Resolution 506" stipulates that if the ANATEL slogan can not be completely placed on the product, permission must be given to ANATEL in advance.

b. The new version of Resolution "Resolution 680" is determined by the manufacturer whether the slogan should be placed on the product or user manual, without prior application to the government.

c. New UWB specification and test.

 

2.Chile: SUBTEL request IMEI code for mobile equipment

Subsecretaría de telecomunicaciones-SUBTEL (Chile Telecommunication Authority) began to require new imported and trafficked mobile devices need report the IMEI numbers to the local official certification unit from August 23, 2017.

 

3.Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU)

EAEU delays the implementation of the RoHS Technology Act

RoHS Technology Act (TR EAEU 037/2016)originally expected to come into effect on March 1, 2018 by the European Union of European and Asian Economic (EAEU), now will be postponed till March 1, 2020. 

In addition, the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) continues to carry out the relevant RoHS regulations, adopted on August 29, 2017 No. 108, announced, including EN 50581 and EN 62321 and other applicable standards of RoHS technical regulations.

 

4.Malaysia: MCMC promulgates new technology regulations for LTE (UE) products 

Malaysian authorities (MCMC) promulgate new technical regulations for LTE (UE) products.

a. Technical Regulation: MCMC MTSFB TC T015: 2017, Long Term Evolution (LTE) - User Equipment (UE).

b. The new technical regulations entered into force on July 12, 2017 with a six-month transitional

period. All certificates need to use the new technical regulations after January 11, 2018.

Old certificates need to be upgraded by new technical regulations on expiry date.

 

5.Paraguay: CONATEL Launches New Labeling Specification

Paraguay Official CONATEL published a specification on product labeling on August 23, 2017. This code requires that the new product be provided with both the place where the product label is placed and the draft label when it is sent for certification.

The label should contain the following information:

a. Producer

b. Trademarks

c. Model

d. CONATEL logo and registration number should meet the requirements of the size, color and type (below)

e. Existing products also need to meet the above product label requirements.

If the product can not include the entire label, it must be submitted to the official CONATEL before placing it in the user's manual.

6.Taiwan (BSMI): BSMI delays the RoHS technology act

BSMI announced 24 audio-visual products to enforce RoHS draft will be postponed. The implementation day will be postponed from January 1, 2018 to July 1, 2018, and the relevant implementation measures and time will be delayed. 

The official announcement is expected to be released in early October.

 

7.Taiwan (NCC): NCC Releases "Draft Specification for Narrowband Terminal Equipment for Mobile Broadband Services"

The National Communication Commission-NCC of Taiwan released the draft Technical Specification for Narrowband Terminal Equipment for Mobile Broadband Services in response to the development of the Internet of Things (IoT)and seek opinions of the fields. 

The scope of the draft covers narrowband mobile terminal devices such as LTE-M1 and NB-IoT, which are scheduled for implementation on November 30, 2017.

 

8.Ukraine: Ukraine mandatory energy efficiency rating certification

Ukraine passed cabinet act No. 339 on May 24, 2017 and will target the energy efficiency rating of the television sets, television displays and television receivers on the Ukrainian market in stages. 


Forced schedule:

※ As of December 2, 2017, products on the market in Ukraine are required to be labeled with an energy efficiency label of E, highest grade A ++. (Please refer to Figure 1)

※ From January 1, 2020 onwards, products in the Ukrainian market must be accompanied by energy efficiency labeling of the lowest grade D and the highest grade A +++. (Please refer to Figure 2)
