On 05th July 2017, ANATEL have published Act. 11542/2017 which sets out the technical requirements for Resolution 680. ANATEL Resolution 680 (& Act. 11542/2017) is now in force as of 28th August 2017 and replaces the previous Resolution 506 for RF devices. Any new ANATEL Approvals started after the implementation date will follow the new ANATEL Resolution 680.

The main changes from Resolution 506 to Resolution 680 are outlined below: 

1.Labeling:  

Previously, under Resolution 506, it would be necessary to provide a declaration justifying why the statement could not be placed on the product, however under Resolution 680, this is no longer required. It is now the manufacturer’s decision whether they place the statement directly on the product or in the user manual. The statement has also changed slightly under Resolution 680 (see below). For existing products approved under Resolution 506, it is not necessary to update the statement.

The statement must be in Portuguese language:

"Este equipamento não tem direito à proteção contra interferência prejudicial e não pode causar interferência em sistemas devidamente autorizados".

 English translation for reference:

"This equipment has no right to protection against harmful interference and cannot cause interference in duly authorized systems". 

2.UWB requirements added – Chapter 24 of Act 11542/2017:

Systems classified as Ultra Wide Band, with intentional emissions with fractional bandwidth greater than or equal to 20%, or with a bandwidth, measured between the points of 10 dB of the carrier peak, greater than or equal to 500 MHz, regardless of fractional bandwidth, shall operate in accordance with the conditions set forth in Table XXI

3.Other changes:
