EU proposes to lower the Cr(VI)limit in toys

On 6 September 2017, the European Commission has submitted Notification No. G/TBT/N/EU/504 to World Trade organisation (WTO) to amend the migration limit for chromium VI in scraped-off toy materials in EU toy safety directive (2009/48/EC). The proposal is expected to be adopted in first quarter of 2018 and enter into force on third quarter of 2019.

 

In point 13 of part III of Annex II to EU toy safety directive 2009/48/EC, The migration limit for chromium VI in scraped-off toy materials will be replaced by the following:
