In its December meeting, ECHA’s Member State Committee (MSC) agreed to identify Octamethyltrisiloxane as a substance of very high concern, SVHC. The Committee had agreed in written procedure on four further substances to be added to the Candidate List. One substance will be included without the committee’s involvement.
ECHA will add these six substances of very high concern in January 2025 to the Candidate List, at that time, the list of SVHC substances will increase to 248 substances.
These substances are listed as below:
According to REACH regulation, producers and importers have to communication in supply chain when SVHC in article >0.1%; producers and importers have to notify to ECHA when SVHC in article>0.1% & SVHC in article > 1t/yr/producer or importer.
In the context of the Waste Framework Directive, suppliers of articles need to provide information to the SCIP database on those articles which contain Candidate List substances in a concentration above 0.1% w/w as from January 5, 2021.
