    Certification Introduction

  • MTBF Certification

    Certification Introduction

    MTBF certification refers to the certification of the mean time between failures of the product, and the full English name is "Mean Time Between Failure". In fact, MTBF refers to the MTBF test report, which is a report on product reliability prediction. MTBF is a reliability index to measure a product (especially electrical products). The unit is "hours". It reflects the time quality of the product and reflects the ability of the product to maintain its function within the specified time. Specifically, it refers to the average working time between two adjacent failures, also known as the mean interval between failures. In a nutshell, the product with fewer failures is more reliable, and the ratio of the total number of product failures to the total number of life units is called the "failure rate". It only applies to serviceable products. At the same time, it is also stipulated that the ratio of the cumulative working time to the number of failures in the total use phase of the product is MTBF. Generally, the MTBF of disk array products cannot be lower than 50,000 hours.

  • Helmet 3C Certification

    Certification Background

  • PTCRB Certification

    Certification Introduction

    PTCRB (PCS Type Certification Review Board) refers to the Personal Communication Service Type Certification Review Board, established in 1997 by North American mobile operators. Operators are not limited to North America, but include members of mobile operators around the world. Its purpose is to provide type certification for end products and templates including Cellular GERAN (GSM), UTRAN (UMTS) and E-UTRAN (LTE).

     

    In order to ensure that your mobile phone or communication device can work on the mobile network of the PTCRB operator, the device must be certified by the PTCRB. This is also to ensure that your product matches the mobile standards of the operator's network. Therefore, for equipment products that are not PTCRB certified, PTCRB operators will prevent the product from running and working on their network.

    North American requirements

    Operator access certification

    In the United States, the operator access certification is also known as the PTCRB certification test. PTCRB is an audit committee responsible for PCS model certification established in North America in 1997. At the same time, a verification group was established, which is mainly responsible for the certification of PCR mobile terminal models and IMEI allocation.

     

    PTCRB certification is a quasi-mandatory type certification carried out by a third-party certification agency. All PCS terminal equipment put on the North American market must pass the PTCRB certification and apply for IMEI according to the report. What is used here is quasi-mandatory. Mandatory should be a requirement issued by government regulatory authorities, but PTCRB is not a government, but a forum, but it is very authoritative. The reason is that dealers entering North America must follow this requirement. Test the product provided by the manufacturer, so it is called quasi-mandatory.


    Certification Requirements

    GSM 850, GSM 1900, FDD BAND II, FDD BAND IV and FDD BAND V are tested according to the OTA test standard issued by CTIA.

    2. Affiliate Membership

    Affiliates of Full and Sponsored Level Members are eligible for a range of membership benefits at no additional cost. Affiliate members have the same rights as full members, including the ability to certify products under their own company name, but voting rights are still held by businesses with full or sponsorship-level memberships in the Wi-Fi Alliance. For a company to qualify as an Affiliate Member, a Full Member or Sponsorship-level Member company must directly or indirectly 

    (1) control the Affiliate;

    (2) be controlled by the Affiliate; or 

    (3) co-locate with the Affiliate in another business Controlled (the same non-member company must control both the member company and the affiliate).

    Implementer members can utilize previously certified Wi-Fi products to certify their end products. Implementer members leverage the Wi-Fi CERTIFIED brand to provide users with an easy path to insurance interoperability and a proven user experience excellence. Additional benefits include participation in three annual membership meetings, access to programming diagrams and tested specifications. The annual fee for Implementer membership is $5,000.

  • MSDS, SDS Report

    Basic Introduction

    MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) is chemical safety data sheet, which can also be translated into chemical safety data sheet or chemical safety data sheet.     In European countries, Material Safety Technology/Data Sheet MSDS is also called Safety Technology/Data Sheet SDS (Safety Data Sheet). The International organization for Standardization (ISO) uses the SDS term, while the United States, Canada, Australia, and many countries in Asia use the MSDS term. MSDS is a comprehensive legal document about chemical characteristics provided by chemical production or sales enterprises to customers as required by law. It provides 16 items such as physical and chemical parameters of chemicals, explosive performance, health hazards, safe use and storage, leakage disposal, first aid measures and relevant laws and regulations. MSDS can be prepared by the manufacturer according to relevant rules. However, in order to ensure the accuracy and standardization of the report, you can apply to a professional organization for the preparation.


    SDS Difference

    • Both the European Union and the International organization for Standardization (ISO) use SDS terminology, but in the United States, Canada, SDS marks;

    • In Australia and many countries in Asia, SDS (Safety Data Sheet) can also be used as MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet), and the functions of the two technical documents are basically the same.

     

    In my country, the standard GBT16483-2000 before 2008 was called CSDS, and the revised standard GBT16483-2008 "Chemical Safety Data Sheet Content and Item Sequence" in 2008 was unified with the International organization for Standardization, abbreviated as SDS. The two abbreviations SDS and MSDS play exactly the same role in the supply chain, with only some minor differences in content.

     

    What is SDS?

    SDS (Safety Data Sheet) is a safety data sheet, which is a comprehensive document about chemical composition information, physicochemical properties, hazard identification, safe use measures, storage information, transportation measures and other information. It is the transmission of material information in the supply chain. It is also one of the main ways of information transmission and one of the information transmission carriers required by the EU REACH regulation.

     

    REACH regulations require suppliers to provide all downstream users and distributors with the SDS of the substances or preparations that meet the hazard classification criteria when they send a substance or preparation for the first time. The hazard information and safety protection recommendations of chemicals contained in SDS can provide professional users with necessary measures for human health and environmental safety protection.

     

    Which products require SDS?

    • Substances or preparations classified as dangerous according to EU Directive 67/548/EEC or 1999/45/EC;

    • Substances determined to be persistent, bioaccumulative, toxic (PBT) or highly persistent, highly bioaccumulative (vPvB) according to the criteria specified in Annex XIII of the EU REACH Regulation;

    • Preparations that are not classified as hazardous but contain hazardous substances.

     

    Or when the product does not meet the above conditions, but the importer requires it or the industry has stricter requirements for product substance classification and labelling, the enterprise also needs to pass SDS on its supply chain.

    Lithium battery products need to use MSDS/SDS report when applying for UN38.3 (transport identification report).
